Once an Irish enclave, it is now a rich multicultural community, with a small apple orchard still standing near 54th and Tyne as a nod to its rural past. Getting around

Kingsway and major streets such as 49th and 54th connect the area to the rest of the East Side and to Burnaby, with the Joyce-Collingwood SkyTrain station a short trip to the north. Frequent buses handle the commute for those without a car.
