Griesbach occupies the former CFB Edmonton military base in the city's north end, redeveloped since the early 2000s into a planned, new urbanist community of parks, tree lined streets and a mix of housing types. Several original military buildings have been preserved and repurposed, giving the neighbourhood a distinct sense of history.
