Ancaster was its own town until amalgamating with Hamilton, and it remains one of the area's most affluent communities, known for larger lots, newer subdivisions and consistently top ranked schools atop the Niagara Escarpment. A historic village core along Wilson Street keeps a heritage feel amid the newer growth.

Getting around

Highway 403 and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway connect Ancaster to the rest of Hamilton and into the wider region, with a car generally necessary.
