Cambridge

Cambridge was formed from Galt, Preston and Hespeler, and the three centres still feel separate: limestone mill buildings along the Grand River give the city some of the most striking historic streetscapes in Ontario.

Galt's downtown is the largest of the three, with heritage stone buildings lining Main Street and the Grand River running straight through the centre. Preston and Hespeler keep their own smaller main streets and village character to the north.

The Grand River and its trail system are the spine of the city, and the Cambridge Sculpture Garden and Mill Race Park sit right on the water in Galt. Newer subdivisions have filled in toward Highway 401 on the north and east sides.

Toyota's Cambridge plant is one of the largest employers in the region, and the 401 puts both Toronto and London within reach. Cambridge typically prices below Kitchener and Waterloo, which is much of its draw.
