Oakville

Oakville sits on Lake Ontario between Mississauga and Burlington, and remains one of the most expensive markets in the country outside central Toronto and Vancouver.

Downtown Oakville centres on Lakeshore Road beside the harbour at Sixteen Mile Creek, with independent shops and restaurants and the lakefront parks immediately south. Bronte, the second harbour village to the west, has its own smaller main street and marina.

South Oakville holds the largest lakefront properties and the most established streets, with mature trees and deep lots. North of the QEW, Glen Abbey, River Oaks and the newer communities around Dundas Street offer more conventional family housing, and development continues north toward Highway 407.

Two GO stations put Union Station within about half an hour, and the QEW and 403 are immediate. Sheridan College and a large corporate employment base sit within the town itself.
