Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls draws millions of visitors a year to the falls themselves, but most of the city is ordinary residential neighbourhoods well back from the tourist strip, at prices that remain modest for southern Ontario.

The tourist district along Clifton Hill and Fallsview holds the casinos, hotels and attractions, with Queen Victoria Park running along the gorge. The Niagara Parkway follows the river in both directions and is one of the most scenic drives in the province.

Residential Niagara Falls sits west and north of the strip: Chippawa on the Welland River keeps a village feel with boat access, Stamford and the streets around Lundy's Lane hold much of the established housing, and newer subdivisions have been built toward Garner Road.

Tourism and hospitality dominate employment, with the Niagara Health hospital and the Ontario Power Generation stations also significant. The QEW connects to Toronto and the Rainbow Bridge crosses to New York State.
